Reality Fighting Mohegan Sun

Reality Fighting returns to Mohegan Sun this Saturday night, February 25th. Reality Fighting, the longest running MMA promotion in the region, begins their eleventh year under the guidance of Kipp Kollar and Joe Cuff. This weekend the Reality Fighting Middleweight and Welterweight Titles are on the line in the Main and Co-Main Events.
Match maker Joe Cuff is bringing back one of their original New England MMA stars Nate Lamotte, who will face Brett Oteri for the Welterweight Title.

Climbing The MMA Ladder

With both The UFC and Bellator fixing to put on record numbers of shows in the year 2012, there will be more and opportunities for our top regional fighters to move up to the Big Show than ever before. But as these opportunities are created, the regional MMA scene is beginning to change as fighters start managing their careers with the goal of making it to the top level. More and more we are hearing about our regions best MMA fighters taking the fights “that make sense”. One of the realities of this process is that it is often very difficult for unranked or unheralded fighters to sign the fights necessary to get themselves to that level, even if their skill and potential say that they belong there.

Random Thoughts

We’ve just put a busy four weeks behind us; three shows in New England in a row sold out between January 27th and February 3rd. But maybe the biggest news was that the show up in Maine, Fight Night I, put over 3,000 MMA fannies in the seats up in Lewiston! The Main Road Warrior Matt Peterson is out of the hospital and resting well in; GET WELL SOON MATT!

Last Wednesday night, I traveled to Pawtucket, RI to visit one of the most exciting and talked about MMA gyms in New England. Tri-Force MMA has been bringing together some of the top MMA fighters for some time now. So when Todd “The Hulk” Chattelle asked me to come for a visit, who was I to say no?
