CES Snow Brawl Predictions

by greg saks ~ November 29th, 2010

Snow Brawl is just days away, this Thursday night at the Twin River Casino in Rhode Island. It’s a stacked card featuring many of the area’s biggest names. This is most definitely the place to be on Thursday… go get yourself some tickets.

Making picks = fights get more exciting = you can win stuff. Just ask OneMoreRound who crushed it on AFO’s last card and won free cage side seats to their next show. Here’s the CES event page to get started:

http://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/ces-snow-brawl

Latest CES Predictions

In the main event, 76% are going with Dan Lauzon to defeat Damien Trites in a fight with a whole lot of smack talk leading up to it. Most people picking Lauzon think it will end via KO/TKO, and most people picking Trites think it will end via submission. I’m thinking it might be both at the same time, like Matt Hughes / Carlos Newton.

For the co-main event, 100% of people right now are going with Greg Rebello over Ohio’s Tiawan Howard. Rebello gets to fight for the first time in his home state.

In a close one, 53% are siding with Sityodtong’s Luiz Rodrigues, whereas 47% are taking BKJA’s Lionel Young. The popular picks are Rodrigues via submission and Young via decision.

Another close one has 57% of people picking Mat Santos to defeat Snake Pit’s Ed Medeiros, who has got 43%. Medeiros backers are expecting a KO/TKO, while Santos pickers are going with submission.

Don’t tell Jason Bennett, but 94% of people have picked Tateki Matsuda to win their fight, with an even mix of sub / decision / tko picks.

We could be in store for a good one with 54% picking Hitalo Machado, against 46% for Jeff “Candyman” Anderson. No surprise, everyone who is picking Machado thinks it will be a sub.

In a battle of pro debut’s, 64% are taking Josh LaBossierre versus 36% for Doug Bolanes.

100% are picking Rockstar’s Ruben Rey over Extreme’s James King.

And lastly, Justin Switzer will look to spoil the hype behind Tyson Chartier’s pro debut. 92% are picking Chartier, mostly by KO/TKO, and 8% are taking Switzer.

Get your picks in by Thursday at 6:30pm.

Here’s how predictions have come in so far on tomorrow’s card:

76% are picking Joe Proctor from Team Aggression, the current AFO lightweight champion, to defeat Luis Felix of Team Rockstar (24%).  Felix is just begging for a betting line with these odds, full with confidence that he can pull off the win.

In a very tight fight, 52% are siding with the more experienced Dan Bonnell of Renzo Gracie NH to take out hot young prospect Brian Marino of Allaire Fitness. This one is really interesting.

90% are going with Theo Desjardin to take out the controversial Doug Sonier. Over half of those people are looking for it to end in a KO or TKO… Desjardin will probably come into the cage with the crowd firmly behind him in this one.

71% are voting for Wai Kru’s Franklin Isabel to defeat Fernando Perez of Cape Cod Fighting Alliance (29%). Most people picking Isabel think it will end via submission.

Lewis Corapi of Sityodtong is grabbing 73% of votes over Matthew Kaponis of Lion’s Den CT (27%).

The rest of it breaks down as follows:

60% Sean Nichols vs 40% Jim Armato
53% Matt Andrikut vs 47% Patrick Walsh
77% Patrick Euglow vs 23% Joe Castriotta
58% Tom Evans vs 42% Vyacheslav Phinney

64% Erik Grendon vs 36% Anthony Soto
62% Tom Venticinque vs 38% Joe Lancia
64% Jeff Lyon vs 36% Matthew Durling
55% Joe Powers vs 45% Keenan Raymond
71% Ricardo Georges vs 29% Richard Zhang
50% Elias Akiki vs 50% Joe Cloutier
90% Nate Andrews vs 10% Rick Joy
