NorthEastMMA Fighter of the Month-Feb 2009

byRick ~ March 26th, 2009

The Fighter of the Month for February 2009 was an easy decision. Calvin Kattar has been on an absolute tear in the past six months. He started his career with a bang, winning 3 quick fights by TKO, and got a shot on the udercard of a Pro-Elite show.  He took on a much more experienced fighter in his Pro-Elite debut and lost via first round submission.

He took about 4 months off, and came back strong in a desrtuction of the ultra talented Kevin Roddy, followed by a quick submission win over Bobby Dias, and on February 6, he was set to face Jon Bermudez in the night’s main event.

The fight carried a on of hype, and the crowd was expecting fireworks. They got the fireworks they hoped for, and the fight was over in about thirty seconds. Bermudez was Calvin’s 3rd win in a row, and he stopped all 3 in under a minute.
