On February 28th, Full Force Productions returned to White’s of Westport with great fights, a sellout crowd, and ring girls that weren’t disgustingly hideous. The card featured mostly amateur fights, with local stars like Chris Chappel, Aguilano Brandao, Adrian Fulk, and Chris Manley highlighting the professional bouts.

155 lbs: Evan Scott (Aggression) vs. Chris Lewis (Tigon)
Round 1: Lewis comes out hard and gets a takedown to guard. He passes to side before getting put in half guard, where he works a guillotine. Scott gets full guard and works an arm bar. Lewis slams out and passes to knee-on-chest where he gets an arm bar of his own. Scott doesn’t tap, but the ref stops the fight.
Winner by technical submission (arm bar): Chris Lewis
140 lbs: Chris Capazolli (Fight Zone) vs. Graeme Prue (Boneyard)
Round 1: They clinch and Prue takes Capazolli down to side mount. Capazolli gets half guard. Prue works from there and looks for a guillotine. Prue goes for an arm bar as the round ends.
Round 2: They trade punches and work to a clinch. Prue pulls guard. He locks on an arm bar, forcing a tap.
Winner by submission (arm bar): Graeme Prue
Heavyweight: Eric Jacobson (Bishop’s) vs. Donald DePina (Body Bag)
Round 1: They work a lot of jabs and circle. DePina clinches and locks in a guillotine. Jacobson falls over to attempt an escape, but can’t get out.

170 lbs: Sean Garlick (IMAD) vs. Noel Fairhurst (Tigon)
Round 1: Fairhurst starts by landing kicks and clean rights. Garlick gets a takedown, but Fairhurst rolls to the top. Garlick slides out to the top of mount. Fairhurst rolls to the top of guard and lands some hard shots.

Round 2: Fairhurst comes out with a running knee into a clinch. He takes Garlick down to half guard. He spends the rest of the round working in Garlick’s guard and half guard.

Round 3: Fairhurst starts with punches and clinches, getting a takedown to guard. Garlick spins for an arm bar, but Fairhurst slams out. They both work from the guard.

155 lbs: Matt Pestana (Aggression) vs. Mark Rodriguez (Boneyard)
Round 1: Pestana clinches and takes Rodriguez down to guard. He punches and passes, working from side mount. Rodriguez rolls out to the top of guard. He lands some shots, but Pestana gets to his feet. Rodriguez goes for a guillotine as the round ends.

Round 2: Pestana shoots and gets a takedown to guard. Rodriguez spins for an arm bar. Pestana escapes, but Rodriguez gets up and takes him down to half guard. Rodriguez mounts, but Pestana gets his half guard back. Pestana gets to his feet and takes Rodriguez down.
10-9 Rodriguez
Round 3: Pestana shoots and takes Rodriguez down to guard. Rodriguez kicks out to his feet. He takes Pestana down and gets his back. Pestana spins out and takes Rodriguez’s back. Pestana punches and works for the choke.

145 lbs: Steve Gaudette (Fightzone) vs. Cecil Haney (AMMA)
Round 1: Both land punches. Haney shoots, but Gaudette defends well and they work to a clinch. Both land punches. Gaudette accidentally lands a low blow, but Haney is ok. Gaudette lands more strikes and they both swing. Haney hits a takedown to half guard as the round ends.
10-9 Gaudette
Round 2: Gaudette lands more strikes, forcing Haney to shoot. Gaudette escapes and punishes him more. Haney shoots again, but again Gaudette defends and lands punches. Gaudette accidentally lands another low blow and is deducted a point. When the fight resumes, Haney lands kicks. Gaudette lands a knee before the round ends.
9-9 Draw
Round 3: Haney runs in with a punch. Gaudette begins to land and Haney shoots. Gaudette escapes and hits more strikes. Both trade hard as the round ends.
10-9 Gaudette
The judges score the fight a draw and for the first time in Untamed history, an amateur fight goes to a fourth round.
Round 4: Both throw combinations, with Cecil landing more. Gaudette starts countering, but Haney is landing more shots and leg kicks. Both have an awesome flurry as the round ends.

155 lbs. Joe Proctor (Aggression) vs. Corey Miner (Rail City)
Round 1: Both leg kick. Miner shoots to a clinch. Both knee. Proctor gets a takedown and works from the guard.

Round 2: Miner shoots, but Proctor reverses it to get on top in guard. He lands hard shots, but Miner gets to his feet. They clinch and break, where Miner lands kicks. Miner shoots to a clinch. They break and clinch again before the round ends.

Round 3: Proctor lands rights, a leg kick, and a hook. Miner clinches and Proctor drops for a guillotine choke. Miner escapes, but Proctor tries for an arm bar. Miner again escapes and lands punches to Proctor’s ribs. Proctor misses a triangle and goes for an arm bar.

185 lbs: Jim Coscia (Fightzone) vs. Bill Martin (Tigon)
Round 1: Martin shoots and Coscia defends. They clinch and Martin tosses Coscia down, landing punches. Coscia gets up, where Martin barely misses a Superman punch. Martin takes Coscia down to half guard. Martin drops for a guillotine choke. Coscia gets out and takes his back as the round ends.
10-9 Martin
Round 2: They clinch and Coscia lands a big takedown. Martin sweeps to half guard and mounts. Martin falls off and Coscia gets to side mount. Coscia slides to mount. Martin escapes to his feet and takes Coscia down. Coscia works to Martin’s back, but Martin escapes to guard.

Round 3: They clinch. Martin takes Coscia down, but lands in a guillotine. Coscia works for an omo plata, nearly finishing it, but sweeping to side mount. Coscia misses an arm bar. Martin gets out to side mount and then takes Coscia’s back. Coscia gets out to guard and lands punches as the round ends.

145 lbs: Abi Mestre (FAA) vs. Jeff Camara (Gillette)
Round 1: Mestre clinches and takes Camara down to guard. He lands punches and falls back for a heel hook. Camara spins out and takes the back. He pounds and tries a rear naked choke. Mestre gets out to guard and lands hard punches. Camara lands a huge upkick, forcing Mestre’s nose to resemble a fountain. Camara gets up to a clinch where Mestre knees.
10-9 Mestre
Round 2: Camara kicks and they clinch. Mestre slams to side mount. He mounts and elbows. Camara gives his back and Mestre pounds him out.

155 lbs: Wayne Harnois (De La Tierra) vs. Joe DeChaves (Boneyard)
Round 1: They clinch and DeChaves knees before taking Harnois down to side mount. DeChaves goes for an arm triangle, but Harnois escapes out to the back. DeChaves escapes to the top of guard. He lets Harnois up. DeChaves catches a kick and takes Harnois down to side mount. He mounts and spins for an arm bar. Harnois escapes, but DeChaves goes back to mount. DeChaves locks in another arm bar, and Harnois verbally taps.

155 lbs: Matt Bessette (Team Link) vs. Chris Chappel (Mass BJJ)
Round 1: Bessette hits a leg kick and a takedown. Chappel looks for a guillotine and gets to the top of half guard. Bessette gets his guard back, but Chappel lands punches. Bessette gets to his feet, where Chappel takes him down. A lot of technical grappling is happening in Bessette’s guard. Bessette tries a gogoplata. Chappel escapes. Bessette slides out, taking Chappel’s back before Chappel escapes to half guard. Bessette lands big shots as the round ends.

Round 2: Chappel lands a clean right and Bessette answers with a front kick. Chappel shoots a takedown to side mount and goes to the back. Bessette rolls out to guard and locks in a triangle, where he punches and elbows. Chappel slams out to guard and passes to half guard. Bessette regains his guard, but Chappel passes again. Bessette gets his guard and then works to his feet. Chappel gets a waistlock and a takedown to mount.

Round 3: Bessette lands a leg kick. Chappel catches it and takes Bessette down to guard. Chappel takes Bessette’s back as he tries to stand. Bessette escapes but gets side mounted. Bessette gets to his knees, but Chappel locks in a guillotine, forcing a tap.

145 lbs: Aguilano Brandao (BMAC) vs. Josh LaBerge (Gillette’s)
Round 1: Brandao clinches and knees. LaBerge takes him down to guard. Brandao misses a triangle and locks in an arm bar. LaBerge taps.

170 lbs: Chris Manley (Team Link) vs. Adrian Fulk (Team Santos)
Round 1: Manley lands a right straight. Fulk shoots to a clinch. They break and Manley lands punches. They clinch and Fulk pulls guard. Manley stands and lets Fulk up. Fulk starts landing strikes and takes Manley down to mount. Manley gets half guard, where Fulk hits elbows and punches. Fulk mounts and Manley gives his back. Manley escapes to the top of guard. Fulk sweeps to mount and goes for an arm bar. Manley gets out to the top of guard. Fulk locks in an arm bar, but the round ends.
10-9 Fulk:
Round 2: Fulk hits a kick and clinches. They knee and Fulk takes Manley down to guard. He lands punches, but Manley locks in an arm bar. Fulk tries to slam out, but is ultimately forced to tap.

The show was great. On top of that, it was a sellout. (Mike Littlefield told me to put that in.) Chappel-Bessette and Haney-Gaudette were definite fights of the night. The next Untamed will feature a title defense from the best pound-for-pound local fighter, so get amped.
