Mike and Mike bring us their 25th installment of Untamed this weekend, and I want to take a minute to comment on the fact that this is their 25th show. There were a ton of local shows before Untamed came along, and there have been a ton since they came into the scene, but Untamed has been the one constant in local MMA over the past few years. Some shows have had ups and downs but managed to hang around, while others have fallen off the map completely. Ever since Untamed put on their first show a few years back, they have consistently put on strong cards and they never really take a break in between. Thanks guys.

PRO 2 X 5 MIN
Joel Burgess 0-0 (Jiu Jitsu Nation) vs. Josh Johnson 0-0 (Best Way/ATT) 155lb
Mark Griffen 0-0 (Lakeville MMA) vs. Mahsea Boleay 1-0 (Bombsquad) 225lb
John Bachman 1-0 (NESF) vs. Rigo Dominnicci 4-7 (Dominnicci) 170lb
I don’t know much about Bachman, but any fight with Rigo ends exciting. He’s coming off some big wins and looks to keep momentum in this one.
Luke Czekalski 0-4 (Brute Force) vs. Brent Reed 0-1 (Best Way/ATT) 155lb
Brent looked great in his one fight against Chris Cape, and I was very impressed. I missed Luke’s last fight but I heard he looked much improved. This one will no doubt be a ground battle.
Roger Brackett 4-1 (Lakeville MMA) vs. Ryan Contaldi 3-1 (Iron Horse) 205lb
This is a big, big fight. Roger, a former WFL HWT champ fights sparingly, but is ALWAYS impressive, and Contaldi is a beast. Roger has good stand up and strong BJJ, but Ryan is the better athlete and better wrestler. Roger’s fight with Eric Magee was awesome, and this could go either way, and it will end with a bang.
Rene Nazare 2-0 (Dungeon) vs. Vincent Sylvestre 1-1 (Sityodtong/Florian) 160lb
Matt Kinberger 3-0 (MFS NH) vs. Don Carlo Clauss 4-1 (Bombsquad) 160lb
Matt Kinberger? I thought the kid from MFS NH that was 3-0 at 160 was named Brent Kinberger? Either way, he’s good. He’s tall with a huge reach, and has shown some very slick submissions. Don is a very good wrestler and former boxer, so this is another great match up tha could go either way.
Travis Bartlet 1-1 (Irish) vs. Mike Dexter 4-5 (Dexter VT) 205lb
Great main event. While Travis is only 1-1 as a pro, he has like a million boxing matches and was 3-0 as an amateur in MMA. Dexter is coming off a loss due to an injury, and is out for redmption. While Mike looks like a monster, he’s actually very technical and is better on the ground than he is standing up. As I said previouly, Travis can really box. His takedown defense is pretty strong too, and this is srt of the classic grappler vs. striker, except neither guys is bad at anything. If Mike can take him down and grind him, he wins, and if Travis can keep it standing, He wins.
