All Comments Removed From MassMMA

bycolinv ~ April 15th, 2008

To start, we’re removing all comments off the site until we release our new version of the site, which will allow comments, but will also feature user registration, so we’ll know exactly who is posting the comments. On top of allowing fans to post under their registered name, we will also have a feature so that fighters, or people who train at certain schools will have that shown along with their comments.

Example: If Dan Lauzon wants to post a comment, the name will look similar to this:

Dan Lauzon (or Upgrade or whatever he chooses)

Pro Fighter-Team Aggression

His comment would then go here.

If someone who trains at a particular school, there will be an option to have that listed as well. So it will look similar to above, except it will only say the school and not pro fighter. This will not only allow people to show their pride in their school, but it will also give people some perspective as to who they are and why they may be saying what they are.

Too often people post that they are from a certain school, when in fact they are not. This will help avoid that. We no longer want people to be able to post anonymously, because too often it’s just dickheads starting trouble. Whether they are disrespecting fighters, making threats, or just talking trash about a certain school, it’s too easy to do it anonymously…and lately we’ve even had the same person posting from different names agreeing with himself. It’s not fair to the person/school that he’s bashing to allow the one person to make it seem as though a whole bunch of people are stating the same thing.

It seems twice a month I get a call from someone asking me to remove something because it was posted under their name, and they didn’t make the post. It’s getting out of control and I don’t have it in me to be internet police anymore. So we will not have any comments on here until we post the new version of the site, which J-Lau expects to have done in a couple weeks.
