Chuck knees to open the round, they scramble and Chucks mounts him briefly before getting rolled again. He locks in another triangle, but Chauppette escapes. They’re stood up for inactivity. Chuck stuffs another takedown and locks in a body triangle, looking for the rear naked. They stay in that position for the rest of the round.

Cacau mounts, takes the back, and after a brief struggle Meals battles to his feet. Meals runs in to punch and Cacau almost takes him out of the ring; Meals briefly drops Cacau with a right hand. They stand and Meals drops him with a left hook - Cacau looks lost, and Steve Rita stops the fight. I thought it was a quick stoppage, until Cacau could barely stand up without falling down.

Corey Peterson vs. Chris Grandmaison

Fuck writing a play by play for this – I can’t keep up with it. You guys should have really been here for this one.

These two have an insane jockey back and forth for position. Peterson looked like he was just starting to get a rhythm in the fight, when he made a mistake and Grandmaison capitalized.

Winner: Chris Grandmaison – Submission (Rear Naked Choke)    2:16 Rd 1

After a brief standup exchange, Brown shoots a double and the two get caught in the ropes. They are stood up – both exchange kicks. A head leg kick lands from Brown, Pupa lands one to the body. Pupa gets to his feet and eats a huge right hand – the two swing, and Pupa lands an illegal knee to the face, which goes un-punished by Steve Rita. Brown’s jaw looks messed up.

**This fight was at first ruled a doctor stoppage victory for Pupa. Due to the illegal knee, intentional or not, both fighters agreed to have the fight decided by the judges’ scorecards for round 1.**
