ALL WRONG DAN, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!
Seriously, everyone give Dan credit – he built a list that’s extremely difficult to compile and let a bunch of us go back and fourth over it. Not easy ranking guys all fighting other guys without a lot of experience.
Nice list. Psyched to see Kin and Andre at the top of their divisions, along with my teammate Joe from Allaire MMA up there as well. So no HW or LHW rankings?
Nice Dan, thanks for letting me help out. Although you may have missed my e-mail yesterday….Mike Commander fought at 170, and he hasn’t fought in over a year.
Rico D. is a BEAST!!! He throws his strikes with an intensity I have never seen locally at any weight!!! I say he beats anyone on the list……..BUT…….I don’t think he’s actually fought at 135 yet…I think his first fight was at 140, and his second at 145, so maybe put him on the 145 list?
Nice job Sergio Cabrera in the TOC!
Jay Bakanowski is my pick to rule at 170. Real strong, good hands, and solid chin. Exciting young fighter, he’s an up and comer…
Nice job on the rankings.
Keeghan “The Maine Road Warrior” Hornstra!!!!
what does HM mean?
Honorable Mention
Congrats to the fighters for being ranked!
Watch some of them in action from the TOC series:

and this one, trying to embed the video so if the video doesn’t appear below just follow the first link to see both nights of TOC fights.
isint maldanado 1-1 and diaz is 2-0.
sorry ment 2-1 for maldanado
It is AWESOME to see 2 Team Valor guys on the rankings! Great job Devin and Lowell. Keep training hard! We are all proud of you.
Keep an eye out for Nick Vaughan at 185, He only has 1 fight, but it was over a year ago (win against Sean Nichols at GFL), and he now trains with FAA, so I imagine he’ll be in the rankings after a couple more fights!!
Also, Rafael Cruz from AFT at 170….he’s already good, and he’ll just keep getting better and better, few more wins, and he’ll be there too!
That little guy list will be tough to crack, but i’ll try….
Keep an eye our for Jeremy Reipold at 105. As soon as someone can get down to his weight, his record’s going to explode.
Thanks for the support Mark. My UFC coach actually thinks I’ll be more effective at 99lbs,
Good fighters on those rankings. Nice job.
Jay Baskanowski is my pick for number 1 at 170 for sure. Dude is a beast. Anyone have a video of bakanowski vs georges fight? Please post. I think it was a clear victory for bak.
I heard Jared Sarno got into mma at a college party
Hey Guys,
Thanks for putting this together. I’m sure this wasn’t easy and you all did a great job.
I was happy to see Colton Blanchette on the 135lb list as I mentioned him on a previous thread, but I’m curious why #3 above Dat Tran and Josh Bourque? Josh is from the same camp and one of his losses was from your #1 – 155lb Aaron Smith. Josh is a tough kid with a lot of talent who isn’t afraid to fight anyone. Happy to see him go pro so maybe he can actually get some 135lb fights. lol.
I see Dat #3, Josh #4 and Colton #5. Hoping this list creates buzz for all the promotions. How often will the list be adjusted?
Also nice to see Tyson Chartier on top the 170 list. He’s going pro December 2nd so good to see him go out on top as an amateur.
ha ha keep, I think everyone knows I was never allowed in college. doh! But congratulations to every one who made the list I feel they did a great job and were very accurate.
Nice to see this happen. Congrats to Zack Costello from team MAXX.
What about heavy weights
Nice job on the rankings! I like it
Perhaps overlooke d& missed one!
Dave Stewart ATT-Wakfield Mass
Easy Top 5
in 185 division.
Im Glad everyone seems to enjoy the amateur rankings! we all worked quickly but hard to get these done.
The funny thing about rankings is…They dont mean a damn thing really. on any given day #10 can beat #1 and so on. I decided to rank the amateurs because of the reasons most people dont think about when they come on here to see them.
We just created goals for each and every amateur fighter out there. they now have ambition, a reason to keep fighting in hopes of being good enough to become pro. The rankings are a sence of reward for some of these fighters who train as often as the pro’s, miss work like the pro’s, Pay the same money for the same medicals. Yet these fighters dont recieve the same praise for what they do.
The amateurs are next years pro’s, we’ll be ranking Kin moy in the pro division in a few months. Aaron Smith will be battling it out in main events in no time. these guys deserve praise.
Now i tried to be fair to everyone, I tried to include a lot of fighters. even used an honorable mention in the larger weights. The heavy weights and light heavy weights had no more than 5 amateurs total. I can post the fighters names and give them all honorable mention but ranking them is a little hard because they all have similar records and havent fought each other.
In regards to guys like Dave Stewart, maybe he can make the next rankings in a month or two? Dave doesnt have a record in the official mma database. If he had fights they werent recorded, thus i have nothing to base his ranking on but your 1 vote that he is legit. I just have too many other guys i do have info on that can make the list for it to make sense.
EDDIE LEE…EDDIE LEE WHO THE F@*# IS EDDIE LEE ? COME ON GIMME A BREAK ALREADY WITH THE EDDIE LEE GEEEEZZZ
I will finally be 100% healthy for my next fight in January. The 135 lb. rankings will be a little different after that.
^^^ Stay humble my friend…. Cockiness is the #1 killer in MMA…
***Disclaimer** Thread hijack.
Fighters needed for a show on November 27th in Western MA. Not my show but helping a friend out. Amateur weights needed include a 155er, a 170er, a 185er, and a 205er. Anyone interested can email me at jason@thepremierfc.com or cal me at (413) 214-1119.
As far as rankings, I think Bonnell summed it up nicely by saying the rankings give the amateurs a goal to focus on. These will be some of the names we will be talking about this time next year.
HEY EVERYBODY!!!! Anybody who wants to jump up on these rankings and get one of those top spots. The #3 Welterweight Leon Davis is looking for a opponent on November 27th. He will fight anybody and is willing to fight a catchweight fight and will cut as low as 160. If you are interested you can e-mail me at newell155@gmail.com
What about Robbie Slade ( Lauzon’s) I think he is 4-0 at 145lb
Yeah they forgot to add the win for maldonado after he beat Keegnan and for Diaz as well !1
I’m pretty sure Slade went Pro at the last XCFL fight.
MY bad he did go Pro in May
Pretty good listing …. I have met many of these fighters, great guys. The Team Rockstar, Allaire MMA, SSSF, Redline …. and more … great teams that we’ve had a pleasure meeting and working with. Definitely hoping to see a few of my guys on this list in 2011, Devin Pilkington 2-1, whose loss was to Mike Lachappelle, and wins were against guys now pro, Devin will be back in stronger form in 2011. Up and comer Joe Lancia making his debut at 185 this month, 2011 will also be a big year for him in this division.
Brandon Cyr 2-0 at 185 and 1-0 at 170 and is going pro at the begining of next year!
Guido at 145!!!! /end thread
Fleming was 3-0 when this was put up, and is now 4-0.And u guys overlooked thai bo nguyen 2-0 170—oh …AND the rankings suck.U are all dead to me.
VERY nice BONNEL. this is another step forward for the amatures and mma in NE big ups. may not seem like a big deal but i havent stopped hearing the ammys talk about the rankings in the gym. and its giving them more motivation.
thankyou bonnell for creating these rankings….and thankyou for everyone that nominated me….its an honor ro be mentioned with all these great fighters
Premier FC is looking for any of the top 155er’s to fight on February 5th against Mike Filipponi (American Fight Team), who is currently ranked #5. (He would, also, consider a match up at 170lbs.)
Premier FC, also, needs a top 145er who is willing to fight on February 5th against a top ten ranked amateur.
Any interest please email me at:
