Round 1:

Touch gloves and fmoskowitz jabs

Round kick, side side, round sround

Clinch

Knee by Williamson and now by rich 3 in a row

Clinch and two round punches from willimason

Rich punches out and works body punches to head punches from inside the guard

Jeff is starting to feel thes blows

 

Rich hits 11 punches in a row to finish the round (including one unintentional elbow)

Sidekick from rich low

Scott works guard and looks for kimoura

Rich passes guard

Sidemount

Knees to the side from rich

Jeff is not fighting back very wisely and is just surviving

Four knees to ribs from rich

Turns to side and hits with two punches to the head

Followed by 4 more

Rich is controlling this fight and a little blood is coming from jeffs righ nostril

Clean face shot from rich

Scott turns into rich and eats four more punches

Referee Kevin MacDonald stops the fight at 2:04 in Round 2 winner- Moskowitz

 

This fight was one sided as Rich completely controlled the better half of round one and owned Jeff in round two. 

 

 

Welterweight division

John Ruddy (Arujo/CTMMA) -169 LBS in the red corner

Vs.

Tee Soul (AMMA) 168 LBS – in the blue corner

 

Round 1:

Tee runs across high double leg on my ropes and dumps John.  Lands in half guard with left leg free

John lands some left punches from his back

Tee works john away from the ropes and tries to free himself from the guard but john wont give up his right leg.  Tee frees the leg through the middle of johns half guard, mounts and lands some right punches from mount.  Tee drags john around the ring, popping him up and dropping him (6 inches each time) and

Tee continues to land punch after punch from top and john tries to hold tee without any defense

Kevin Macdonald stops the fight at 2:12 minutes in the first round.

Bellaton Frederic (SSS)  - 194 lbs in red corner

Eric Russell (Bombsquad) 192 LBs in blue corner

 

Round 1:

Jab by eric 3 in a row

Bellaton misses left low kick nfollws with three more and connects inside leg with one and head with a left high kick

Bellaton works lefgs of eric

Bellaton counters with punchws and

Bellaton fakes low kick and goes high makes face contact

 

Eric working jabs but not making contack

Bellaton is working the legs of eric effectively

Eric counters low to bellatons leg

Strong leg kick rocks erics left outside thigh and then followed by inside kick and then another outside kick by bellaton

Erick works a straight kick and gets caught

Bellaton kicks erics leg while eric is on his back in the neutral corner.  erics leg is bruising quirkly

 

Eric wisely works inside control and bellaton clinches working an inside trip taking eric down to his guard.  Bellaton is on top in erics guard.

 

Niegher man doing any damage through the last minute of the round on the ground and the bell rings.

 

Round 2:

Bellaton works two missed round kicks and misses an ax kick

Eric

 

Eric lands a hard round kick to bellatons rib and bellaton takes him down landing solid punches to erics face

Eric works a heel hook and bellaton rolls twice eventually getting out of it

 

Fighters work up to their feet and eric kicks bellaton again kick is caught and bellaton outside trips eric.

 

Fighters go to guard eric is on his back and the exchange some rabbit punches.  Some asshole in the second row is still yelling something about standing these guys up (I thought people understood a little about the sport by now

 

Bellaton works to pass guard and then hits some kidney shots to erics ribs

Sits up in the mount and lands some punches to erics head.

 

Eric works an armbar but to no avail.  Bellaton stands up and escapes any trouble.

The bell rings as round 2 ends.

 

This fight is too close to call right now and we at MASS MMA expect an overtime.

 

Majority draw is called and the judges ask for an overtime  – we at massmma were right just for the record

 

Round 3:

Two min overtime begins

Low kick by eric hits thigh of bellaton

 

Bellaton shoots in (high) but successfully takes bellaton down. They land in erics guard

 

The ref does infact stand them up and

 

Eric lands a kick to the ribs

 

Bellaton shoots high again and lands in a guillotine from eric in erics guard. 

Eric lets go and they exchange a few rabbit punches before the bell.

 

Fight lasts two rounds plus the two minute overtime.

Unanimous decision 10-9 to the blue corner eric Russell the crowd strongly disagrees.

 

 

Jeff Berkowitz (MSA) 190 LBS Red Corner

Vs.

Earl Bauer (Unleashed) 189 LBS Blue Corner

 

Round 1:

Jeff runs across the ring

Earl drops and shoots

Taking jeff down

The two quickly get to their feet and clinch

Earl bodylocks and works a takedown to sidemount

Earl works a neck crank ala marcus davis from last week steps over jeffs right arm and works a near-side armbar from the side mount while maintaining side position

 

Earl lands 20 uncontested left hands to the right side of jeffs face and nose. 

Earl continues to crank that neck and jeff taps directly in front of me

 

Submission at 1:45 of round 1 earl bauer. the submission could have been due to the neck crank or armbar but we had a tough angle on it.  Read tomorrows update for the comments from Earl and maybe even from Jeff if hes a good sport.

 

 

Jonas Fernandes (BMAC) 169 LBS red corner

Vs.

Lou Silva (Mendes) 172 LBS Blue Corner

 

Pre-Fight Comments from Jonas Fernandes: I expect him to come out swinging because hes a Tang Soo Do fighter.  I plan on jabbing to work into a shot, work some ground and pound and work a submission.  Ive been training for six months altogether,  but  Ive been training my subs hard. 

 

Lets see if it happens like Jonas Predicts. 

Round 1:

Low kick by silva

Quick hands by jonas

Low kick by jonas

Countered by two by lou

 

Jonas works two missed punches and lou counters with a kick

 

jonas shoots lazily high but misses not countered

 

jonas shoots again at lou in the blue corner no takedown

 

shoots again but lu works away from the takedown and then gets up throwing and connecting with punches to jonas face.

 

Jonas  works a high bodylock in the blue corner and lou punches out of it. 

Seems lou brought his own audience and it is helping as he lands two more punches to jonas head

 

Jonas shoots high and takes lou down to the neutral corner

 

Jonas works past lous legs to a mount and lands uncontested punches to lous head as lou tries to work out of the position and the ring

 

Referees mcdonald starts them in the center with jonas on top mounting lou.

5 more punches land on lous face and the bell sounds ending round 1.

 

Round 2:

Lou comes out with a cut over each eye

Jonas rushes in waist high and takes lou down ending up on top in lous guard

The fighters are in the far neutral corner.

Jonas throws a few punches from the top of lous guard and lou works a failed seep

Jonas works some hammer fists from inside lous guard

Lou works the knees high

Jonas moves back for a heel hook and misses falling to his back against the ropes

 

Lou takes advantage and hails punches that didnt effect Jonas too much

 

Jonas works for a knee bar and lou moves in on Jonas

 

Jonas catches lou in the perfect position for a triangle but does not execute for 40 seconds

 

Lou gets caught in the triangle and looks as he is going dark.

Referee Kevin Macdonald (at 3:00 in round 2) wisely stops the fight and Jonas wins by Triangle.  As a spectator near me commented Lous face looks like it was hit by a frying pan

 

 

Break

 

Tom Giove (SSS) 145 LBS Red Corner

Vs.

Paul Gorman (AMMA) 137 LBs Blue Corner

 

Round 1:

Paul jabs twoceAnd leg kicks

Tom clinches around the body and belly to belly lateral drop landing in toms guard

Tom works for an armbar and ten back to the guard

 

Tom stands up and Paul grabs both of Toms heels tripping Tom to his back

Paul quickly pops up and mounts Tom high

Paul winds up and connects with a powerful left making Tom roll to his stomach giving his back to Paul. 

 

Paul takes Tom back immediately going to a rear naked choke and at 2:12 of round 1 Tom taps out

 

 

Mike Scott (Magnus) 168 LBS Red Corner

Vs.

Marc Stevens (Tai Kai)

 

Round 1:

Mike jabs and marc works a clinch immediately taking mike down and mounting mike.

Mikes defense was to lay and cover his head while eating numerous punches that are probably hurting marcs hands

 

Mike rolls and gives up his back

Marc tries a choke, misses works mikes kidneys and then head

Marc flattens mike and gets hooks in.

 

Marc lands more punches to the side of Mikes head and the referee Gary Evelyns stops the event at 1:47 in Round 1. Winner Marc Stevens

 

 

Joao Amaral (BTT) -  160 lbs

Vs.

Jack Wilmarth (Aggression) 160 lbs

 

Round 1:  Fighters come out and touch gloves.  Joao throws a right straight that lands,  Jack comes forward to clinch throwing knees, Joao pushes him into the corner  Looking for a takedown, Jack sprawling.  Good knee from Joao.  Jack throws some hooks to the body.  Jack takes down into butterfly guard, pushes off back to the feet.  Jack flurries and chases Joao to the other side of the ring, going back into the clinch.  Jack pushes Joao into the corner, both punching and kneeing.  Jack  throwing relentlessly with punches and knees in the corner  Joao lands a clean punch that rocks Jack, Jack shoots.  Jack tries to throw, Joao blocks and takes mount.  Jack turns his back, and pushes out of the mount looking for a leg.  Round ends with Jack in butterfly guard

 

Round 2:  Fighter touch gloves.  Jack throws a leg kick that misses, follows with punches across the ring.  Both flurry at each other, Jack pushes Joao into the corner with clinch.  Joao working knees to the thigh.  Jack spins Joao into corner, kneeing to the legs.  More knees from Jack with a foot stomp.  Joao pushes off and lands a huge punch, clinches and throws ILLEGAL knees to the head that go unnoticed by referee Eblens.  Jack pushes back into the corner, with more foot stomps.  Jack pushing Joao across the ring and into the other corner.  Joao landing knees to the body.  Jack pushes off and both flurry to the bell and the round ends.

 

Winner: Jack Wilmarth by Majority Decision

 

 

Jeremy Basilio (Arujo/CTMMA) 199 lbs

Vs.

Eric Brown (Fightzone) -  200 lbs

 

Round 1:  Fighters come out and flurry, just brawling like crazy.  Jeremy goes for a takedown and misses, Brown up and pushes Jeremy into the corner.  Eric goes for a double leg, Jeremy holds the ropes but is taken down, Eric quickly taking mount.  Eric punching like crazy, the crowd chanting his name with a big following.  Eblens stops the fight.

 

Winner: Eric Brown by TKO (Mounted Strikes) at 1:24 of the 1st Round

 

 

Main Event

Mandela Kponou (Dragon Lair) 186 lbs

Vs.

Lance Everson (Boneyard) 182 lbs

 

Round 1:  Fighters come out and touch gloves.  Everson lands and overhand right, Mandela follows up with a punch and a leg kick.  Everson moves in to take him down, failing.  Everson with a good kick and punch.  Mandela comes back at him with punches and a kick, Everson shoots across the ring into the corner with the clinch.  Everson knees to the thigh.  Mandela working to get out of the corner.  Everson pushes off to punch missing, goes right back into the clinch.  Mandela knees and pushes off.  Everson throws a missing haymaker, which Mandela liked apparently, and touches gloves with him.  Mandela with a leg kick and a right hand that glances.    Everson throws a punch and goes for the takedown, again clinching into the corner.  Everson slams Mandela down HARD with a takedown into side mount.  Everson knees to the body, but basically lays there.  Still laying there.  Everson throws small ineffective busy punches.   Mandela tries to roll and Everson takes half mount as the round ends.

 

Round 2:  Mandela tries to punch and misses.  Everson comes forward and lands a hard punch, going into the clinch.  Everson pushing Mandela across the ring while both knee, Everson pushing Mandela into the corner.  Everson goes for a takedown with a body lock and almost takes Mandelas back, Mandela turning and getting taken down into side mount.  Everson laying while Mandela tries small punches from the bottom.  Everson moves into half mount, Mandela pushes off and gets back to his feet.  Everson comes forward again Mandela goes for the takedown.  Mandela with an accidental knee to the groin, and referee Kevin McDonald calls a break.  They start back up, Everson fakes a shot and lands a punch, and does the same again.  Mandela misses a front kick.  Everson connects hard with an overhand.  Everson throws two missing head kicks.  Everson shoots and gets a bodylock, and takes him down right in front of me with half mount.  Everson moves to side mount with 10 seconds left.  Everson lays and the fight ends.

 

Winner: Lance Everson by Unanimous Decision
