Cage Titans Fighting Championship Announces Full Fight Card
Epic – Warriors of Mixed Martial Arts
Next Friday, July 30th Cage Titans Fighting Championship will be making its debut with its premiere show entitled ‘Epic’ at Lombardo’s in Randolph, MA. For this event, Cage Titans FC is featuring some of New England’s most promising talent in both amateur and professional bouts.
Headlining the card is a clash between Chuck “Cold Steel” O’Neil (Lauzon MMA) and Anthony Kaponis (American Fight Team) for the 170lb. Welterweight Championship. The veteran O’Neil is a well-rounded fighter with a strong jiu-jitsu background. He is currently ranked in the top 10 in New England with half of his wins coming from submission, although his last two were via TKO. Kaponis is a former state champion wrestler that is relatively new to MMA. He has quickly made his mark though, fighting and impressively winning in the first round the four times he’s stepped into the cage since making his debut. Kaponis says, “(Chuck) think he is a really good fighter and got respect for what he has done but the fact is, he’s never faced a fighter like me, I will win!” Expect a highly entertaining match-up between two combatants who always look to finish their fights and never let their fate be decided by the judges.
An exciting 145lb. battle is also set to take place when “The Rabid Squirrel” Matt Perry (Lauzon MMA) returns to the cage after a three year lay-off to take on the very tough Barrington “Rude Boy” Douse (American Fight Team). Matt has never been out of the first round and has won all his fights via triangle while Barrington has a rep for having great stand-up and always putting on entertaining fights. On paper this has the looks of your typical striker (Douse) verse grappler (Perry) but both fighters believe they can finish the other no matter where the fight goes. Matt says, “I’m looking to show all these other 145ers that the best one has been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the chance to show them what’s up!”
In addition, Franklin Isabell (Doomsday) will square off with Bill Jones (Team Kaos) in another anticipated match-up in the 145lb division. Isabell has been out of action since December and is coming in extremely hungry and amped up for this fight. As for Jones, he was just in the cage a week ago for the GFL, unfortunately on the losing end, but was eager to get back in and is looking for a win as he jumped at the opportunity to face Isabell on short notice. Overall, both fighters like to stand and bang but are also very slick on the ground so this fight really could go either way.
Also, Steve Skrzat (The Factory) will be stepping into the cage to face Kym Sturdivant (American Fight Team). Skrzat is a very explosive fighter who has won all his fights via TKO/KO and looks to make quick work of his opponent. Sturdivant, on the other hand, is a blue belt and very technical fighter that will look to slow the pace down and weather the early storm. Who can impose who’s will on the other and dictate where the fight takes place?
Rounding out the main card will be a 135lb. clash between Johnny “Cupcakes” Campbell (South Shore Sportfighting) in his professional debut against Brandon “Kiss of Death” Boggs. Campbell comes in with an undefeated amateur record and is a very well-rounded fighter, though mainly known for his stand-up. Boggs was the NAFL 155lb Amateur Champion who won all his fights via submission before turning pro. Unfortunately he lost a controversial fight in his pro debut but looks to reintroduce himself as a completely reinvented fighter at 135lbs. Campbell says, “Should be an interesting striker verse grappler but I believe my well rounded skills will prevail…hopefully in awesome fashion!”
As for the undercard, it will feature 10 amateur fights with fighters from South Shore Sportfighting, Connors MMA, NEMMA, Providence Freestyle, Team Kaos, Mainiac, Team JKD, and Sityodtong. (Match-ups will be posted Monday)
These ‘Epic’ battles take place Friday, July 30th at Lombardo’s in Randolph and is an event you won’t want to miss! Tickets are $35, $50 and $75 and now available online. Breaking down the Main card…. Props to Rick for giving me the perfect quote for the main event!
A Very Solid card for an event making its Debut. Solid card for any event. I like the main event should be exciting, both guys have never been in a boring fight.
Some good amateur fights too! Hats off to John Sepulveda for getting all those fights cleared and ready to go! I heard they had helped a lot of the fighters get their paperwork finished and in on time. That’s a pain in the ass. Primarily why I stay in NH. But good job looks like a great show!
I will go on record as saying John Sepulveda may be the hardest working man on the local scene and that’s saying a lot. He definitely takes care of the fighters and puts the fighters first. We are looking forward to this weekend.
American Fight Team

What happened with the Campbell vs Boggs fight? Inside leg kick into the balls???
Barrington defeats Mat Perry, WOW, thats impressive good job, Matt is a great grappler. Good job Jonesy. My man crush has intensified for COLD STEEL, nice job. Hats off to all fighters who put it all on the line.
I may be biased, but I thought it was an amazing show, I just want to publicly appologize to SSSF, Joe Lameroux, Corey Pickering, Scott Lockhart and Bill Mohoney…. Your opponents told us they had their medicals done, they produced paperwork when they weighed in, obviously I dont know what I am looking at, but the kick rep for the evening took the paperwork and never gave us an indication day before that there was an issue… I am truly sorry for that…. other than that…. Amazing show…. if you weren’t there find a way to see Matt Perry vs. Barrington Douse (DVDs soon) and Chris Lane vs. Ruslan…. these fights were both insanely great!!!! and congrats to Cold Steel on the title!!!!!!
The Combat Sports Agency wishes to thank John Sepulveda, Mike Polvere, and all of the folks who worked so hard to make Cage Titans FC: “Epic” a truly fun event.
Sityodtong’s Amateur’s Eddie Lee and John “Luda’ Cumper were truly excellent in taking the “Amateur Submision Of The Night” and “Amateur KO Of The Night” honors, respectively. Thanks to Cage Titans FC for a fun twist to the amateur ranks, these types of awards really serve to give the winners added confidence for future bouts.
Matt Lee’s Fight Factory prospect Steve Skrzat overcame a good wrestler and 224lbs. of Kym Sturdivant for a come from behind TKO in the 2nd Round, nicely done “Skriz”.
Also we’d like to thank Dennis Paiva, Josh Boperlin, and Kym Sturdivant for providing game competition for our athletes, each of you are nice, respectful people that bring respect and honor to yourselves and your teams each time you step into the cage.
At The Combat Sports Agency we’re solidly behind Cage Titans FC and hope to continue working with John, Mike, and the entire staff to bring our athletes to the forefront of New England MMA. Thanks so much to everyone involved, especially the fans who spent hard earned dollars to watch exciting MMA action….see you at the fights!
Thank you to all of the fighters and fans for making Cage Titans’ debut show truly ‘EPIC! The fighters left it all in the cage, putting on some entertaining fights, and the fans really enjoyed the evening. I stood at the door as everyone left the venue and I don’t think I’ve ever heard so much positive feedback at a local show.
Also, thanks to everyones teammates for being in the gym everyday training with those guys getting them ready. Though its looked at as an indivdual sport, these guys wouldn’t be where they are today if it wasn’t for you being in the gym daily helping them train.
Overall the show was definitely a success and we plan on releasing a date for our next event very soon!
Thank you once again to everyone involved!

Firstly, a very serious, very severe set of personal circumstances has come up in my life that has caused me to opt out of Cage Titans and let Mike Polvere proceed without me….
There are a lot of things I want to say, but I am in a fair amount of pain while typing this, so I will just say this…
I hope to return to local MMA by the end of the year with some luck, also butcher shop outstanding sponsorships will be taken care of asap and I will be discontinuing the sponsorships for my clothing company.
I wish everyone out there lots of luck and hope to see you all at some point in the future
Hey John, I heard that you borrowed my checkbook!
Seriously buddy, let’s hear the real story.
I think their is a group growing that hopes you don’t come back to MMA. Bruce seems friendly with you, letting you use his checkbook and all so maybe you two can start a promotion now. You sir are what they call a phony.
I don’t know you, I certainly don’t owe you anything, but fine, lets do it…..
In late may I began urinating blood, at first I ignored it because some friends had mentioned a similar problem and I figured it would pass. Shortly thereafter it became worse so I went to my doctor… Some samples were taken and some tests were done, then I went back, some more samples were taken and some more tests were done… then finally one very painful test was done and in late June my doctor diagnosed me with having prostate cancer.
I am self employed and I do not have health insurance. After consulting with the doctor and hospital I agreed to do ACH payments for my past due bills and to continue doing them throughout the treatment process or until I ran out of money and we would review more options.
This week I began treatment, I put it off until after our first show.
But lets move back to exactly what you are talking about…
I have absolutely bounced some checks, never intentionally, and never maliciously and all have either been taken care of or are right now in the process of being taken care of.
I have sponsored fighters to wear my clothing companies Tee shirt numerous times.. and really without much upside to the clothing company, but I have a lot of respect for the fighters and I suppose a lot of fighters got word that I would help them out if they needed it. I have in the past given sponsorships to fighter so that they could buy a part to get their car on the road so that they could make it to the gym, given sponsorship to fighters so that they had the money to take a jiu jitsu seminar that they could not afford, given sponsorships to a fighter who has a pregnant wife and needed help paying gym dues, fighters who couldn’t afford licenses, medicles, rent, the list goes on and on… I have never once said no to a fighter that approached me needing help, even if I didn’t feel the fighter was the best representation for my clothing brand…. who am I to judge, they work hard and deserve a break. On a side note, nobody has ever come on and given any type of credit for any of these things with the exception of a sentence by Jason Franklin saying I put fighters first, but I never really did anything for credit, just to help out someone who was down.
Most of the fighters I sponsored let the sponsorship end with wearing a Tee Shirt to the cage (even though my contract specifically states that they have to wear it immediately following the conclusion of the fight and they are required to spend a certain amount of time at my booth), I have never seen a picture of seen live a fighter doing anything other than getting there hand raised shirtless after a fight with the exception of 2 fighter. I have also never seen any of these fighters go to any extent to be an ambassodor for my brand, promoting the product and company on their social network or sending someone to my website to buy something, etc… again, I never made issue of it because I was just helping out. The exceptions to this would be Fred Mandraccia and Mike Polvere, both went above and beyond to promote my brand… others forgot to even bring my Tee shirt or wore the gym tee shirt or tee shirts with their works information written in ketchup, etc.
In late June, early July I was battling the depression of this news, the stress of running a first show and dealing with the fact that I have a 20 month old daughter who needs a father. I did not pay close enough attention to my banking at that point and bounced a few checks.
One to Anthony Kaponis, one to Premier FC and one to Joe Reverdes, all of them were taken care of in cash plus penalty within 10 days.
Prior to that in Mid June I bounced a check to Paul Barry, I have tried a few times to make it out to settle this and I had an envelope in my back pocket at the show for him but he did not attend, as soon as I complete this post I am heading to the post office to mail him a money order.
I commited to all of my sponsorships as well as some random employment before I had any knowledge of what was to come and while I still had plenty of money in the bank to cover my living expenses plus help some fighters out with theirs… I gave a friend 150.00 to make some phone calls to gyms because he had broken his arm in a cage and was unable to work and has yet to get any word from the insurance company on being reimbursed for his surgery, I gave another friend 450 to send a simple questionairre out to fighter because he needed money to buy an engagement ring, at the time I agreed to these things, which I am more than capable of doing myself plus sponsorships I was in a much healthier financial and physical place.
Some sponsorships I gave out because I couldn’t keep payroll under its budget for our show and I really wanted a fighter so I did a sponsorship to cover the difference because again at the time it was not an issue….
My first very large, ACH payment came on August 2nd,there were a tring of smaller ones before this. I never even opened the piece of mail telling me it was coming and it created an upside down effect that I was not expecting…
As of right now I have 4 outstanding debts 1 was sent last night, 2 will be sent today and the 4th on tuesday…
Up until this exact moment 5 people in the world had knowledge of this, my business partners, and 3 people i consider close friends, those of you that know me personally and know Rachel and my daughter, I request that you do not mention this to them as I plan on having the conversation in person tomorrow night.
Mike is very capable and accomplished and he can proceed forward without me for the time being. We accomplished something that not a lot of people can accomplish… We didn’t lose any money on the first show, factoring in the 8-12k in extra expenses a first show has in a post comission era that is not an easy task.
The point of contact for any issues is me, with butcher shop my partner anthony and I dissolved our partnership on July 31st and I would be the one who does all final sponsorship payouts, my email is johnsepulvedari@yahoo.com.
And thats all I have to say about any of this… good luck to all, hope to see you soon.
John, sorry to hear about all of your troubles. I hope all turns out for the best.
Whom ever wrote as Bruce,
Your a fuckin asshole

You know that you could have given Paul’s check to me, Scott or even Mike Polvere. Why didn’t you? At any rate, if you mailed it then Paul will get it tomorrow(Tuesday) because he didn’t today.
I think you were looking for “you’re” Bonnell. If you were referring to something you own…like your car, your shoes, etc..you’d use your. If you are saying something that could be “you are” instead of you’re…like you are a fuckin asshole, you go with you’re.

Paul still didn’t get it.Gee, I wonder why…
Yup, he didn’t send the money, he’s off facebook and his email.I just hope those of you defending John feel foolish for buying a single word that scam artist ever said.Suckers.
