Dear Diary, – Wait, sorry, wrong journal.

Back to Fighting…  By this point, everybody has read the Untamed 4 preview by Danny Pikes (http://massmma.net/readMore.php?id=178) and you have all made your picks on this evening’s potential victors.  In a month of so many events, most people haven’t stopped to think about how many great events and incredibly talented newcomers we have in this sport.  There are six events (in MA and NH) over six weeks and all of them will likely produce a strong turnout.  Promoters are treating fighters right and working with one-another to ensure their cards are all packed with solid fights to get you your money’s worth.

We are all counting down the hours to make the voyage to Mansfield and reserve the best spots available, but unfortunately some people have other obligations and won’t be able to make the event in person.  Lucky for this minority MASS MMA will be Text Casting the event Live!  This is the first ever text cast and all you have to do is go to MASS MMA and continue to click refresh in the Rumor Mill Section to see how the fights are going.  You can also log onto your Yahoo! Instant Messenger and send a message to broadcast_mma@yahoo.com.  We will be responding during the event to answer all of your questions. 

Speaking for myself (as should be the case in this format), I’m most excited for two fights.  It goes unsaid that Kponou vs. Everson is exciting (not just because I corner Mandela) and could go either way.  Both fighters are explosive and incredibly well rounded.  It’s amazing to think back to their first fights respectively.  They have only been in the game for a few years a piece but they will draw one of the largest showings in the sport’s local history!

The other fight I’m looking forward to is the match up between Perry and Keating.  Perry is so unpredictable but has shown signs of weakness in past events.  Perry is a scrappy fighter that tends to surprise the audience with unscripted antics and techniques from a mix of the Joe Lauzon/Ultimate Warrior guide to ring presence.  Look forward to having some fun at this one!
