On Saturday, June 5th 2010 KRANE will be conducting a MMA Judge training program. This training program is approved by the New Hampshire State Boxing and Wrestling Commission and follows the same outline recently used to certify judges with the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission. This course is designed for those who have a strong functional knowledge of Mixed Martial Arts and would like to take the first step to becoming a licensed MMA judge. The KRANE system utilizes lecture, video analysis, live demonstration, and live fight scoring to provide participants the most complete program in MMA officiating instruction. Topics covered range from appearance and ethics, to the breakdown of how to properly score a bout, to the many different outcomes and decisions which can be reached. The classroom portion will be held at KI Fitness in Exeter, NH. The live fight scoring will take place that evening at Triumph Fighter’s Inferno MMA event at the Hampshire Dome in Milford, NH. Upon successful completion of this seminar, participants will be invited to shadow licensed judges at future live MMA events. After shadowing professional judges and demonstrating scoring proficiency, prospective judges will have the tools and documentation required for licensure in most states.
This course will begin at 1:00 pm. Each student will receive their own manual containing all course material, bout sheets to provide documentation and proof of experience, as well as certificates of completion. After the classroom portion, candidates will travel to the Hampshire Dome in Milford, NH for the practical application at Triumph Fighter’s Inferno show that evening. Here judge candidates will be given the unique opportunity to score live fights in person, while under instruction, feeling free to discuss and ask questions. I feel that this is the hands-on experience crucial to becoming a successful MMA judge. While it may seem easy to judge a fight on television, with all the angles and replays, it is much more difficult for the judge sitting just outside the cage. Course cost is $150.00
While I cannot guarantee that everyone will succeed as a judge and gain state licensure, I can confidently say that I will provide you with all of the tools necessary and available to give you the best chance for success.

Glad to see this up here in the Granite State.
Thanks for the interest to those who have responded, applications have been emailed. I would love to see some NH folks turn out. Last time the referee course had only 1 NH participant. The rest were MA, RI, NY, and CT. New Hampshire appears to have a show just about every 2 weeks between now and the end of the year. Promoters and the Commission would love to see more NH officials hired for NH events.
Kevin i will post this up on my website and im sure you will get some responses.

Thanks for the response. This course is shaping up really nice. Big thanks to Tom Baker from Suckerpunch Fight Gear for the sponsorship!!
A couple of answers to questions that people have been asking:
1)You can licensed as a referee and a judge, there is no conflict of interest there
2)You can be licensed in more that one state in multiple disciplines
3)By enrolling in this course you will recieve not just the training and experience on June 5th, but also the ability to attend future events to shadow judges and score bouts to gain experience.
4)Upon successful completion of training you will get a certificate for states which require proof of course completion
Thanks and if you have any more questions, feel free!!
