The Global Fight League™ is proud to present their upcoming main event for their January 22nd show from the Capitol Theatre in Concord NH. The highly anticipated match is for the GFL’s coveted 145lb title.
The two GFL star athletes competing for the prestigious title of the area’s top 145lber are, Sityodtong’s Tateki Matsuda and Wai Kru’s Rodrigo Almeida!
The Japan born athlete, Matsuda made his trip to the U.S. just five years ago. Speaking next to no English at all he found his way to the World renowned Sityodtong Gym and Mark Dellagrotte. Matsuda, now 23 years old holds a professional MMA record of 4-1 with his only loss coming via DQ to Bill Jones 5-2 (Team Chaos) from an illegal elbow at GFL 3. Although Sityodtong has its great Muay Thai roots, Tateki does not suit himself to a Striker but as a well rounded mixed martial artist. Matsuda holds a win over 145lb Mainstay Aguilano Brandao 8-3 via KO at GFL 4, and in a recent trip to Brazil this past year Tateki Submitted a BJJ black belt in a MMA fight on short notice, so to say the least This Global Fighter is quite well rounded!
The GFL didn’t have to look too far to find the Talented Japanese fighter a worthy opponent. Watching carefully as Tateki picked away at his Friend and Teammate in route to a win, Brazilian Native, and Wai Kru Stand-out Rodrigo Almeida gladly accepted the Title fight just after an impressive, dominant win over Eddie Felix in just 1 round.
Rodrigo Almeida holds a 6-1 record with impressive wins of his own, one of which over former WFL 155lb Champion and BJJ black belt Cesario De Sousa. Ranked in the top ten of New England’s 155lb rankings, Rodrigo makes the drop to the very deep and talented 145lb weight where he wants to claim the GFL title.

The Trailer video on their website for Almeida and Matsuda is like ufc material… Very cool. GFL has something very special here.
I’d rather a full card…..the poster of this fight has been up on this site for weeks now….Gonna be a great one though!

Check out the GFL “Life” Trailer though, its something we are very excited about. with enough views of the trailer we’ll release the full 30 minute video. Right now we are working on a television deal for it. those things take so much time to complete.
For all the fighters out their, this type of Video that we did for Tateki and Rodrigo is something that they will never forget. Its the best resume’ you could ever have. It tells their story, depicts the life of a fighter, and the training regime they must endure to reach the level they are at. We have recently completed a documentary about our Main Event fight TATEKI MATSUDA(SITYODTONG) VS. RODRIGO ALMEIDA (BMAC) for GFL featherweight champion ship. Please help us create buzz by achieving our goal of a million views of the trailer- and so we can decide where to release the entire documentary.
GFL’S “THE LIFE” is visually stunning featuring two fighters from opposite sides of the world that will meet for the very first time on January 22nd, at GFL 5 Resolution. The Documentary features inside look at the fighter’s lives and thoughts- with a special appearance by Mark Dellagrotte, and set on the fabulous backdrop that is BOSTON! Great video guys!!! GFL is a great org to fight for. I see big things if they keep doing what they do. Hope to get Team Ravenous back on a GFL card asap. We got some guys coming up as amateurs who are gonna turn some heads! Best of luck on another great show!!

This show just got canceled. From what I hear Wai Kru backed out of yet another fight, This is really Disappointing to the MMA fans, coaches, and most of all the fighters. I saw Tetaki at the last GFL show and he looked pretty solid.
