Global Fight League brings its 8th Installment from the Dover arena in Dover NH Friday June 16th.The card as usual is a solid line-up from top to bottom full of Pro’s and Amateur fights. The show as always will be full of hype videos for featured fights, and a GFL compilation of past high lights. They will announce a huge welterweight Title Fight that will Co-Main Event September 17th from the Whittemore center on UNH Campus!. The GFL will also release a sneak preview to what they have coming in store for the next few months leading to their Huge September show that promises to be a pleaser!

145 Bill Jones 6-2 (Kaos)   v   Justin Homsey 5-1 (Renzo NH)
Featherweight Championship

Home town boy Bill Jones gets his much awaited shot at the GFL 145lb title.
Jones looks to bring home the GFL belt when he arrives next Friday to Dover arena with his 500 eager fans awaiting another gnp victory riddled with elbows, slams, and hard nosed in your face strikes. Standing in his way is… well, the champion. Justin Homsey has been nothing short of perfect in all but one bout and has captured the GFL title in his last appearance vs a very tough Rodrigo Almeida, submitting him with a choke and armbar. Homsey is for lack of a better word Nasty on the ground. Homsey welcomes Jones’ Gnp which will provide us with a excellent fight as neither man is afraid to take this fight anywhere it has to go.

145 Kevin Roddy 12-8 (Pellegrino)  v   Jonathan Chasse 6-1 (AMMA)

I can assure you this fight will be awesome! GFL has brought in a Newcomer to the Northeast MMA scene. However, Jonathan Chasse is far from new to fighting. Chasse is a Dave Strasser transfer from Wisconsin and now resides in Maine and trains with the likes of Paul Gorman, Jay Jack and Amanda Buckner. After a year hiatus due to injury, the Dream bound Chasse is fresh off a 155lb 16 man tourney championship which earned him the bid. A car crash earned some time in the hospital and a bid in rehab instead. Chasse boasts a 6-1 record and looks to earn a shot at the GFL title with a win over Roddy.
Kevin Roddy is no stranger to the Northeast. The veteran Roddy has an impressive 12 wins and has fought some of the area’s best and has held multiple titles (Battle Cage extreme, and Ring of Combat). The Pellegrino BJJ black belt stands 6’ and has an opposing reach for Chasse to deal with as well as a superb ground game. Of Roddy’s 12 wins, 10 have come via submission.

265 Ken Avery 0-1 (BMAC)   v      Cody Lightfoot 3-1 (Seacoast)

For the first time since GFL 1 a Heavyweight bout will be featured.
This is your classic Grappler vs Striker match-up. Top New England Prospect wrestler Cody Lightfoot brings an impressive 3-1 record to the table. The once HS wrestling New England championship runner-up takes his Heavy weight approach at a Matt Hughes type arsenal against the Very experienced Amateur boxer Ken Avery. Ken has over 70 amateur boxing matches winning 90 percent of those bouts. We don’t know much about Avery besides his excellent boxing resume but will it be enough to shake Cody up?

145 Adam Tousaint 0-1 (Havok)   v   Dominic Warr 0-0 (Wai Kru)

Tousaint found himself in a successful amateur career, The well rounded Team Havok fighter is very calm and relaxed for having just a few fights. Finding himself overmatched in a late round submission in his pro debut Tousaint looks to bounce back with his home crowd behind him here against Dominic Warr.
Warr as corney as it sounds always finds himself in one. Another Amateur turning pro here and making his debut, Warr also had a successful amateur career. Dominic comes from a great camp but jumps on this fight on short notice.

160 Tyler Nau 2-0 (Anubis)   v      James Grant 2-0 (Renzo NH)

On paper this may look like a low profile fight, two guys not too many people know about. Couldn’t be further from the truth though. This fight has all the tools to be fight of the night. Theses two are mirror images of each other. Both very slick on the ground and both posses a good chin and striking power. Tyler Nau likes to spend less time in the cage dispatching his opponents faster than Grant who has reached the third round in both his fights. May that be the difference? Who knows but this is well matched and should impress for sure. Neither fighter has been in a boring fight.

The rest of the Card shapes up like this:

175 Mark Matheson 2-5 (Dragon Warrior) vs Tony Woodman 0-5 (Havok)

155 Matt Phinney 0-0 (Rivera MMA) v Aaron Smith 2-0 (Seacoast)
135 Tad Barbour 0-2 (Kaos) v Josh Bourque 2-1 (Cage Strikers
170 Keegan Hornstra 1-2 (Maniac) v Ozzie Diaz 1-0 (Seacoast)
135 Matt Marshall 0-3 (Maniac) v Corey Palmer 0-2 (MFS-NH)
145 Chris Lane 0-0 (Kaos) v Devin Powell 0-1 (Seacoast)
140 Tom Benjamin 1-2 (Kaos) v Josh Deveau 0-1 (Danville)
155 John LaFlex 1-0 (Kaos) v Justin Clough1-1 (Seacoast)
145 Brett Morris 0-0 (Rivera MMA) v Nick Villafane 0-0 (Haverhill)
155 Steve Wolfinger 0-1 (Kaos) v Sean Blaisdell 0-1 (Seacoast)

Ok time to hi-jack another promotions ‘promotion’… (I wish there was a forum here). Anyone know what is up w/next weekend’s Reality Card? Website only lists 7 fights. It looked like Nazare was supposed to be on that card, now he is not. Anyone know the story on Nazare?

I would like to officially announce that My longstanding relationship with WCF has come to an end today….I no longer have any obligation to fight for them any longer. I have fought my ass off for this promotion for over 2 1/2 years, Left my blood sweat and tears in that ring and asked my wife her hand in marriage between those ropes as well. Business is Business so i respect Joe Cavallaro’s decision to release me of my services to his company. After fighting on nine shows and headlining three for one of New England’s premiere MMA organizations the WCF and I have decided to part ways.
As many of you know I love MMA. At the beginning of my career all I was interested in was actually fighting. Over the years my love for the sport has grown more into an obsession. Meaning that I actually have become just as interested in the business of fighting, as fighting itself. Just over two years ago I was approached by another start up organization and was offered a position to try my hand in the realm of matchmaking, in addition to that Rick has given me the opportunity to right for NortheastMMA as well, something else that I also enjoy.
My Financial interest in the GFL and my anxiousness to fight every month has become an irreconcilable difference between the WCF and I, Thus, I will no longer be able to fight in the WCF. I would like to thank the WCF and Joe Cavallaro for all the support over the years and helping me forward my career to where it is now.
With that I am available to fight for all promotions from this day forward and as long as my relationship with the Global Fight League as a Matchmaker does not hinder my relationship with your promotion, I am available.

Just about a year ago Dan you fought with us in Grentham NH on Halloween Havoc, you came out to a pretty bad ass MJ song and won via triangle – I’ll be the 1st to say I’d love ya back for Halloween Havoc 2 Oct 8th in Mansfield if it all works out for ya. I know you talk to Mark often so lets try to get that together.

Great write up Dan, I am sure that the WCF will miss you more than you miss them. I am sure you will have plenty of offers to fight, and a lot more people to choose from.

Good Luck to Homsey and Grant you trained your butts off now lets go have some fun!

I will have a review up soon. The show was pretty awesome. A last minute change that turned into “Fight of the night” was by far my favorite part.
