I’d like to take a minute to announce that the XCFL and NorthEastMMA.net have partnered up to bring you anything and everything from XCFL here on NorthEastMMA.net. “How is this going to differ from what we’re used to?” you ask…well, at the top of the page (and on the right of the page) you’ll notice a tab that says “XCFL News.” When you click that, it’ll bring you to the official news page of the XCFL, right here on NorthEastMMA.net. This is going to cater to both the fans of NorthEastMMA.net and the fans of the XCFL because while the XCFL news will be easily accessible from the main page of NorthEastMMA, it won’t interfere with all the other posts.
The XCFL News can be updated as often as they have news, and their news will only post to their page, so if you only want to hear about the XCFL, you can easily find all their news with one click. If you’re on the other side of the spectrum and don’t want to read about them, you’ll still be able to get your daily fix of NorthEastMMA without reading about the XCFL.
Now that I’ve gotten the logistics out of the way, the reason we decided on this format is because they have a ton going on, and it will benefit all of us. They plan to release various interviews (both video and text) and also want a place to talk about fights they’ve booked, upcoming dates, and other exciting news. So it is going to benefit NorthEastMMA because we’ll get additional content, and ultimately additional traffic to the website. It’s going to benefit the readers of NorthEastMMA because instead of having to look at several different websites to stay in the loop, it’s one stop shopping. It’s going to allow us to post news of any size, as often as necessary without taking up all the space on the main page.
Many people commented on how much they liked the RSS feeds on the right hand side of the site because they can come here to read about the local MMA news, and also check the latest highlights from JoeLauzon.com and the UFC. This is going to give the readers of NorthEastMMA.net yet another thing to read about, and let’s face it, the more content the better.
As I mentioned in my original article about the XCFL, they have a ton going on, and as a fan of local MMA, I’m excited to have another local promoter pushing the envelope and bringing great MMA to MA. I’ve been impressed with all the news they’ve told me thus far, and I’m excited to share that with all of you. Keep your eyes peeled, you won’t be disappointed.

This is an idea that I’ve been toying with for a while now, as I think it would be very cool for all the promoters to eventually have a news page dedicated to just their news.
Every promoter always has some type of news that they’d like posted…whether it’s a link to an interview in which someone talked about the show, a mention of a charity they are helping out, a couple fights they just booked or a promotional event they have coming up…there is always something, and if I posted every piece of news from every promotion on the main page of the website, all the “big” stuff like previews, reviews, rankings and stuff like that would get buried and be at the bottom of the main page, or even off the page within a few days.
If I can eventually get this format to work, promotions would have a spot to post any and all of their news, no matter the size, to their dedicated page without taking up space on the main page.
For now, though, it’s just the XCFL with their own page, and after we see how this test run goes, I may open this up to other shows.

What happened to the XCFL page? I’m not seeing their ads to click on either.

That was strange, as soon as I posted they are all back.

One thing that will be a challenge is that anything that posts to the XCFL page has to be seperately posted to the main page, and the comments made on each page will stay seperate. So it’s possible that you can read the same article on two different pages with totally different comments on each. I did just post another piece of news on the page…3 big fights announced.
