CFX 7 “Mayhem in Mansfield 2″ Preview

CFX 7 is set for next Saturday, December 19 live from the M-Plex in Mansfield, MA. The card features several of the areas top fighters including Chris Grandmaison, Josh Diekmann, Chuck O’Neil and Josh Watson. As always with CFX, we have a mix of pro and amateur fights, a big fight card totaling 20 fights, and several HWT match ups. The crowd always loves HWT’s, and they love big KO’s, and this card should have plenty of both.

My favorite fight of the night is between two HWT bangers, Shawn Galano and Luke Corona. Galano is 4-0 with all 4 wins coming by first round TKO (maybe he should be considered for Rookie of the year?) and he typically comes out and brawls, and keeps the pressure on until his opponents fold. Corono has a sweet last name, and though he’s lost his only pro fight, it was against Lee Beane, and he made him work for it. Make no mistake about it, this is going to be ugly. Both are going to throw bombs, and someone is going to get knocked out. I don’t expect it to go very long, I have no idea who is going to win, but it should be entertaining.

Chris Grandmaison is never in a boring fight, and he’s set to take on Franklin Isabel. This is a huge step up for Franklin, but he is pretty dangerous, so he might be able to make Grandmaison work, but Chris has proven to be one of the best in the area. This is his fight to win, and the fans are always in for a treat when Chris is in the cage.

Chris’ teammate Dan Bonnell is also fighting on the 19th, and he takes on undefeated Zack Burhans. This has potential to be a really good fight. Both guys are good wrestlers, and both are slick after getting the fight to the mat. I think Bonnell has the edge in the stand up, so I imagine he’ll try to use his wrestling to keep the fight standing. This should be one of the more technical battles of the night, and I expect it to go the distance.

Josh Diekmann makes his return to the cage after a tough loss in his last fight, and he’s taking on Wade Therrien. I couldn’t find any info on Therrien, but either way, Diekmann is never boring, so the fight should be sick either way.

Josh Watson takes on Mark Griffin in what should be a pretty good fight. Watson is another guy that always entertains, and Griffin is 1-0 with a TKO win over a very tough guy. Watson was one of the most talked about HWT prospects a year or so ago, and with him making the drop to 205, the rest of the division needs to take notice.

In what could be fight of the night, Brett Oteri takes on Jason Dublin. Oteri has all 3 of his wins by submission, but Dublin has very underrated BJJ, and loves to bang. I see both of these guys taking a beating with one of them winning by late TKO or submission.

Another up and coming HWT, Chris Bagge is also fighting on this show, and he takes on Jason Dolloff. Bagge has won by TKO, submission and decision is previous fights, and looks to keep rolling against a tough veteran.

This fight card is jam packed with fights, and has a ton of the areas best, and most popular fighters. It should be a fun time, especially right before Christmas…I can only imagine what Varner has planned.

I noticed no one mentioned O’neils fight because he’s fighting me. I know they never want to list my record. Well it is proudly 0-20. Listen I know why I am brought in to fight these people. I may be the most advanced of all stepping stones. Don’t think I am going to fight any lesser then usual. After Febuary if money is good for me which is should be I have to regret informing you all I am leaving. You may not see me again for a long time. I have been straight sober for 3 months and it won’t end hear. I am going to begin training now. Not bullshit like the millions of times I cried wolf. You will know I am for real when you can’t find me no more. I love this shit. I love this fight. I love MMA. It won’t end here. I am just finally have enough courage to get my shit together. I’ve got no more friends and my life will be about fighting from here on out. I was born this way I can’t run and hide forever. I was made to be a champion and I will be. I will be one of the best some day. No one can change how I feel about that nothing could be said that would change one slight NEED of the myself being in the cage. Father was a champion wrestler, older brother 2 time All – American football player and had the honor of playing on Team U.S.A., younger brother is shooting for an Ivy League college, and I made the mistake my dad made and let drugs, alcoholism, crime, and weak hearted people surround me. Those days have ended and I am writing this sully as a document as proof that you can overcome shit and be what you want to be. I don’t want or need the bullshit anymore. I’ve been getting my ass kicked for three years waking up everyday dreaming about a belt but picking up a bottle. I just want to thank every mother fucker out there that beat this sense into me. This is the beginning for me I am finally who I was born to be once again. Thanks every body and I won’t let myself down again!

Strength. Born from pain. Beyond that of my flesh.
Betrayed, robbed and beaten, but not defeated. Through my
search for allies, I have found myself.
Persistance is the answer to regain all that was taken.
    Hatred drives me onwards
across to desolation of dying dreams and failure,
to find I am my own salvation.

AND FUCK ANYONE WHO SAYS SAKURABA SHOULD RETIRE. Go WAND, go Chute Boxe go, PrideFC!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good luck to you joe kavey, i don’t know much about you as a fighter but i can tell you it takes balls for a MAN to admit his own faults and be willing to face them, so again good luck in your fight both in the ring and internaly, because admitting in public that you have all these issues already makes you a winner my friend.

JOE KAVEY- I wish you all the best. First and most important is the cleaning up your chemical abuse. Second drop the feeding off negative energy feed off positive. If you are beaming with positive then only positive people will stay with you. Third- TALK IS CHEAP stick with it and in 4 months from now have no regrets. Don’t slip back to your old ways and say you will do it next time. Walk the Walk cause you have already talked the talk and Talk is Cheap. Best of luck on your journey my man you have a huge community of fighters to Lean on.

I happy for Dollof like everyone else. Isabel is already good and has a ton of potential. Also, I will post this in the review if there is one because I HAVE A QUESTION! After the fight I felt ok my head was a little lumped up but now I am dizzy every time I get up or move my head to fast. I don’t have a headache and I have NO nausea so I would not think I have a concussion but I have never had one so I don’t even know what they feel like. My right ear is purple and so is behind it and I was thinking did Chuck hit my ear drum and fuck up my equilibrium? I doubt this will last longer than a week but I don’t have insurance and I would like to know if I am ok basically. I am sure I am. I’m not that worried but it’s new to me but on the positive side I think it’s kinda fun if it only last for a short while.
