In case you didn’t know, there are a total of 8 MMA shows in the month of June. Due to the fact that shows will dominate coverage for the month of June, we’ve got a ton of content to post to the site in the next two weeks. First up, new rankings will hit the site this week. That always seems to be one of the most popular features on the site, and there are some guys making big moves in the rankings.
We also have a fighter of the month article for April, along with a preview of local fighters on the national stage, and a preview for gamblers as well. We have a ton of content to post in the next couple weeks, followed by the biggest month of MMA we’ve ever seen in this area. It’s going to be a fun 6 weeks. Stay tuned.

BTW, when it comes to rankings are there just not enough heavyweights in NE to do a ranking? Or are they just that bad?

Like it so far. Hopefully the website has the capacity to handle it. Been getting a lot of timeouts and slow response times

The problem is with the hosting company, not the website. Believe me, I’ve been losing my mind the past few days. The site was running fine for weeks, then the past 3 days, I’ve been getting errors almost everytime I try to log in. The hosting company said they were having issues on their end last week and the site was better for a day, and it’s starting to act up again.
I just updated the calendar. There is one more event on June 20 in Springfield, but I’m waiting for more info before I add that.

To answer the question about why we don’t rank HWT’s, it’s the same reason we don’t split 135 and 145, and we only rank 1-5 at 205. There simply isn’t enough local talent in those divisions. For example, currently to make the under 145, 155, 170 and 185 pound rankings, you have to be pretty damn good. Guys who have been in main events, and are super tough have been left out…guys like Brandao, or Andrew Carron, etc. Nate LaMotte was #10 at 170 last time out, and he’s like 10-4. Carron is 5-1 with his 1 loss being to a ranked guy, and Brandao is 8-5 with wins over ranked guys, and all losses are to ranked guys.
Point is, we want being ranked to mean something…in all divisions. At HWT, you’d only need a couple wins to get ranked, and that’s not really fair. It just doesn’t seem right to rank a 3-0 guy who hasn’t ever fought a tough fight at HWT and leave a guy like Brandao off the list.
So to answer your question, it has to do with the lack of top end fighters. We don’t want to rank guys just to rank them. We want being ranked to mean something.
